Should I use a soloist?

At St. Patrick's Church, you are welcome to engage a vocal or instrumental soloist as part of your wedding service. Most often used soloists include vocalist, trumpets, flutes, violins, harp and any combination thereof. If you do not know a soloist, please contact me for a referral. It is the party's responsibility to contract the soloist in regards to their availability, selection played, rehearsals. fees, etc. Musical proficiency is most important when engaging a soloist, as rehearsal time with the organist is very limited. Generally, rehearsal with a soloist takes place one half hour prior to the ceremony, so it is important that your soloist be familiar with the requested music and liturgy.
